Roger and his two young children Katie and Timothy arrived to IHNGC with a mixture of hope and uncertainty. Recent transplants to Cincinnati, Roger had just gotten sole custody of his two kids and wanted to raise them closer to their grandparents. Like any transition, things don’t always go as planned. Due to space limitations and strict lease terms, they were unable to stay with family members upon arrival. Roger found himself with no place for his young family as they tried to start their new life in a new city.
On their first day with IHNGC, curious young Katie asked, “Why are we here?!” Despite their initial doubts, the kids soon settled into life at IHNGC. Roger kept busy, too, and after just a few short weeks in the program was keeping to a budget, saving up his social security disability income, and searching for a part-time job.
Roger is now working at a local company and Katie and Timothy are thriving and on-track at daycare. The whole family is enjoying their new apartment.
